branding

More a brand development than a brand design, Emer’s Kitchen were looking to expand beyond their Leeson Street site to access a larger, more centralised customer base. We took what they had in their original site and built on it, developing the look and feel of the interiors and signage in a way that retained consistency across both sites without requiring a refit of Leeson Street.

SIGNAGE FIT OUT

Marrying necessity with our design, we steered the client away from their existing handwritten menu boards. By creating reversible boards on butcher hooks, the client was able to quickly and easily display their breakfast and lunch menus without the need for a skilled calligrapher onsite. Recreating their iconic red bike/FOOD sign, we continued the client’s love of the quirky into the coffee menu, using scrabble style wooden tiles on runners from George & Willy of New Zealand.

graphic design

The design of the menu boards and signage was informed by the existing Leeson Street site. While no “designed” signage existed there, apart from their bike sign, we used palette colours and simple, san serif typefaces to create something immediately legible for the breakfast and lunch time rushes.

project management

Created the signage pack and schedule and sent to tender. Liaised with the client and suppliers to facilitate easier communication. Provided complete budget analysis based on submitted tenders. Supervised signage install onsite.
